Base pay range

$120,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

A prominent alternative investments firm in New York City is seeking a Fund Accountant to join their growing team. This role provides the opportunity to work across a diverse range of fund products, including hedge funds, venture capital funds, fund of funds, and public ETFs. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days in office.

Job Function

• Review daily, monthly, and quarterly fund accounting packages and investor reporting.
• Reconcile capital activity, subscriptions/redemptions, and contributions/distributions for investors across all fund products.
• Manage fund cash and expense tracking.
• Communicate with the Portfolio Manager and investment team regarding trading activity and cash balances, and reconcile/review trade activity details.
• Assist in valuation processes across all fund products.
• Support trade settlements and product development for new fund launches.
• Assist the operations team with account onboarding, system implementations, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with internal legal and compliance teams, respond to investor inquiries, and support Operational Due Diligence sessions.

Job Requirements

• 3 - 5 years of experience with a strong background in finance and public/private accounting.
• CPA or parts passed preferred.
• Experience coordinating with third party fund administrators.
• Experience in completing audits of hedge funds, private equity, or venture capital funds.
• Experience in digital assets/crypto currencies is a big plus.
• Experience in client service or communicating with investors.
• Understanding of operations, pricing, and trade settlement.
