Overview

Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant role at UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center. Provides independent advanced practice provider clinical expertise to patients and families on an ongoing basis, including management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical/specialty/standard practice protocols in accordance with the PA practice agreement. May include non-invasive or invasive procedures and surgical procedures, including operative first assist per approved standardized procedures identified by the Medical Staff Office. Patient management decisions are independent where appropriate after assessment, and interdependent with consultation with an attending or other team members. Acts as an expert resource for healthcare providers including nurses, residents and other ancillary staff.

Qualifications

• California Licensed Physician Assistant (PA)
• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire
• National board certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
• American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross BLS, or UC Davis Health CPR
• American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Certification within 7 days of hire
• American Heart Association (AHA) PALS Certification within 7 days of hire
• Fluoroscopy CA License within 6 months of hire
• Masters degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant program, or completion of certified PA training from an accredited program
• At least 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant in procedural care in an acute care setting
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing as a billable provider

Department and Work Environment

UC Davis Health integrates Advanced Practice Providers (APP) into interprofessional care teams to support care for complex patients. The department supports Radiology through Radiology subspecialties including Nuclear Medicine, Vascular Interventional Radiology, and Cross-Sectional Interventional Radiology. The position rotates to the 48X Day Surgery Complex.
