About the Role:

The Lead Server in the Health Care industry plays a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional dining experiences for patients, visitors, and staff within a healthcare facility. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the serving team, coordinating meal service schedules, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety. The Lead Server acts as a liaison between the kitchen staff and service personnel to ensure timely and accurate delivery of meals tailored to specific dietary requirements. Additionally, this role involves training and mentoring serving staff to uphold professionalism and efficiency in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Ultimately, the Lead Server contributes to the overall well-being and satisfaction of those served by fostering a supportive and organized dining atmosphere. This role is also responsible for working as a Host/Hostess in our Main Dining Room.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a food service or hospitality role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a passion for working with Seniors!

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a healthcare or long-term care facility.
  • Basic knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutrition relevant to patient care.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a food service environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic meal ordering and tracking systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of serving staff to ensure efficient and courteous meal service.
  • Manage meal delivery schedules in alignment with patient dietary plans and facility protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations during food handling and service.
  • Train new servers on proper service techniques, hygiene standards, and patient interaction protocols.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and dietary teams to address special dietary needs and resolve service issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of meal counts, special requests, and inventory related to serving operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient and visitor inquiries or concerns professionally.
  • Maintain Resident satisfaction.
