Four Star Seafood is seeking a Production Manager who will oversee all aspects of the production process, ensuring the highest quality standards and operational efficiency. In this pivotal role, you will manage production schedules, lead a dedicated team, and implement process improvements that enhance productivity and safety.

The primary role of the Production Manager is to lead by example, oversee the entire production process, from planning to execution. You'll lead a team of production staff, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Increase profitability by managing and overseeing all aspects of the production process, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of production supervisors and staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability through leading by example.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including purchasing, receiving, sales, and logistics, to ensure inventory accuracy, smooth operations, and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain the highest levels of product quality.
  • Monitor production and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and support the Operations Managers to ensure SOP's are in alignment with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Lead training and development of production staff to ensure exceptional standards in fish cutting and knife skills to ensure the highest quality of seafood products.
  • Manage production budgets, controlling costs while meeting production targets and deadlines.
  • Participate in product development initiatives, collaborating with management to introduce new products.
  • Prepare and present reports on production performance to senior management.
Requirements

If you would like to join our dynamic team, you will bring the following traits to the position:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an operations role.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience managing teams of at least 10 - 20 people.
  • Prior experience working directly with seafood and knowledge of fish cuts with the ability to train others in fish cutting techniques HIGHLY PREFERRED.
  • Previous experience in the restaurant industry or warehouse environment, working with perishables PREFERRED.
  • Proven experience in a production management role, preferably in a seafood or meat production environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with strong ability to pivot and under changing demands.
  • Solid understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with advanced ability to gain buy-in, and the ability to collaborate across several departments.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with inventory management systems, Asana, Microsoft Office Suite products and Google Workspace, especially with excel.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Self-motivated with high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with administrative functions such as general correspondence, maintenance of accurate records, employee files, and inventory reporting.
  • Strong ability to identify, multi-task, and prioritize with a highly proactive mindset.
  • Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and manage others effectively with a hyper focus on a team-oriented mindset and a positive attitude.
  • Trustworthy with strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Speak English fluently and coherently. (Bilingual a plus!)
  • Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

WORK SCHEDULE AND AVAILABILITY:

This is a full-time position based out of the San Francisco location. Approximate work schedule is Tuesday - Saturday, with approximate hours of 4:00am - 2:00pm. Some flexibility is required based on business needs. Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This is a full-time salary exempt position that works 100% on-site at our San Francisco location. The pay scale is $85,000 - $105,000 annually with potential for future bonus structure. Employee benefits are available for all qualifying full-time employees, including paid time off, medical, vision, and dental insurance. In addition, employees receive fresh seafood products and company merchandise at cost plus 10%.
