We are seeking a qualified Senior Electrical Engineer to support our growing power generation market, focusing on natural gas and renewable energy projects. The role involves serving as Owner’s Engineer and/or Advisor, leading teams in power generation design projects, and supporting in a traditional Owner’s Engineering capacity. Preferred locations include: Austin, Ann Arbor, Boise, Bismarck, Billings, Charlotte, Chicago, Denver, Irvine, Fort Worth, Houston, Honolulu, Kansas City, Madison, Minneapolis, Missoula, Omaha, Phoenix, Portland (OR & ME), Richmond, Raleigh, Sacramento/Folsom, San Diego, Seattle, Spokane, St Louis, Syracuse. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in power generation and distribution, protection and motor control design, power system studies, and related areas. Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, managing client relationships, and leading proposal efforts. Significant design experience with power plant systems is required. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ABET-accredited, with an Electrical Power emphasis Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering (preferred) Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design Experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation Experience with engineering consulting or EPC firms (desired) Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently Extensive knowledge of electrical power systems, protection, control design, and related activities Ability to travel less than 10% Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering At least 10 years of experience Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license Experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power Sector design software (e.g., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Revit) HDR is committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment where everyone is valued and empowered.
