Job Description

*Training Specialist Revenue Cycle/Medical Billing/Full Time/Remote

Works collaboratively with leadership to identify training needs. Develops a training curriculum for all new and existing employees. Utilizes Customer Service/Insurance Recovery leadership as Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop and maintain instructional materials and procedures related to the activities within the Customer Service/Insurance Recovery Department. Designs course content using information gained from needs assessments. Evaluates the impact of training programs by establishing criteria to assess effectiveness. Plans training schedules considering operational needs and facilitates training sessions for Customer Service/CBO Insurance Recovery staff responsible for customer/insurance recovery activities.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Plan, organize, facilitate, and evaluate New Hire Training. Monitor new staff during training.
  2. Organize and facilitate training classes on job-specific topics, system navigation, and service improvement.
  3. Prepare for each training session, including setup, supplies, materials, equipment checks, and system readiness.
  4. Meet with department leadership to identify training needs and develop implementation plans.
  5. Analyze training programs to ensure they meet the needs of the requesting party, considering current and future trends.
  6. Establish Super Users, conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions, and support their ongoing development.
  7. Support the creation of job aides and educational materials, developing programs to meet staff needs.
  8. Participate in continuous improvement activities, staff meetings, and quality assurance initiatives.
  9. Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent policy interpretation.
  10. Partner with departments to identify ongoing training issues and develop solutions.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma; Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Five years of training experience.
  • One year of curriculum development experience.
  • Two years in a customer service environment with leadership responsibilities.
  • Healthcare revenue experience and EPIC experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, organized, and capable of problem-solving.
