\n\nJob Description\n

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed. The position requires minimal supervision and entails evaluating patients to recommend appropriate treatment plans. The Respiratory Therapist will explain procedures and treatments to patients, ensuring they receive necessary education before discharge.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, aerosol devices, and nebulizers.
\n
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using different methods.
\n
• Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy.
\n
• Review patient chest x-rays and perform 12-Lead EKG.
\n
• Conduct pulmonary function studies and assist with respiratory procedures as needed.
\n
• Provide tracheostomy care, including tube insertion and removal.
\n
• Perform arterial puncture and determine ventilation efficiency.
\n
• Maintain documentation of treatments and patient responses.
\n
• Communicate effectively with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy efficiency.
\n
• Ensure accurate respiratory therapy charging and data entry.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• Current respiratory therapy licensure.
\n
• BLS and ACLS certification.
\n
