Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case. **Summary:** The Unit Secretary is responsible for performing a variety of clerical functions to support effective communication and efficient operation of the unit. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. **Other information:** **Required Job Qualifications:** -High School degree or GED Good communication skills - Computer skills - Good time management and organizational skills **Physical Demands:** - Flexible work hours **Responsibilities:** - Performs a variety of clerical duties to support patient care process. - Functions as a receptionist for the unit. - Orders and maintains adequate supplies for the unit. - Facilitates physician orders-orders tests, diets, lab work, charges, etc. via computer. - Maintains patient's paper chart. - Greets patients, visitors, physicians, etc. - Utilizes telephone etiquette and responds to phone inquires meeting customer services expectations. - Computer knowledge to do data entry, graphs, memos, etc. - Maintains clean and safe work environment. - Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement, as appropriate.
