Position Summary

Responsible for doing multiple setting ups per shift and machining weldments and block work of all sizes in a timely manner, while maintaining exceptional quality.

Job Responsibilities

  • Set-up and machine parts per print efficiently and accurately;
  • Complete any necessary inspection worksheets;
  • Maintain little to no re-work or scrap;
  • Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes;
  • Keep work area clean and organized;
  • Maintain exceptional overall attendance as well as daily on time attendance
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills

  • 1-3 year minimum experience as a machinist;
  • Prior experience setting up and operating HAAS VMC’s and Mazak Lathes.
  • High attention to detail and quality;
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints;
  • Understand basic GD&T call-outs;
  • Ability to accurately use standard machinist measuring tools;
  • Ability to setup and run “one-off” parts to print efficiently and accurately;
  • Must work well under pressure; and
  • Excellent team player with organizational and time management skills.

Nonessential Skills and Experience

  • Safety (OSHA, SDS), ANSI (RIA) standards. 

Environmental Health and Safety

  • Understand the Company’s EH&S Policy and how it relates to this job;
  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as company rules and policies that pertain to this job;
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EH&S procedures;
  • Immediately notify the supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly or if there are any questions regarding EH&S procedures; and
  • Attend required EH&S training.
