Position Summary

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will serve as a strategic technology leader, driving digital transformation to support our organization's global operations in manufacturing and retail distribution. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CIO will oversee all aspects of IT strategy, infrastructure, and operations, with a focus on optimizing our Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP platform to enhance supply chain visibility, inventory management, and customer responsiveness. This role demands a visionary executive who can integrate emerging technologies like IoT and AI with core manufacturing processes, fostering innovation while ensuring scalable, secure systems that align with our rapid growth. The ideal candidate will build on our client's legacy of technology-driven disruption, as exemplified by past initiatives in connected products and ERP optimization.

Requirements:

  • Experience : 10+ years in IT leadership, with at least 5 years as a CIO or CTO in a mid-sized manufacturing or consumer products company. Proven track record in ERP implementations, preferably with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Business Central, in apparel, retail, or distribution environments. Demonstrated success in launching tech incubators or IoT divisions.
  • Technical Expertise : Deep knowledge of cloud ERP platforms, supply chain optimization, and emerging tech (IoT, AI, data analytics). Experience with Microsoft technology stack (e.g., Dynamics 365, Azure, Power BI) and tools like Adobe Photoshop for design integration or Cisco for secure networking.
  • Leadership Skills : Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, capable of translating complex tech into commercial value—e.g., achieving on-time order fulfillment through enhanced visibility and reporting. Excellent communicator who can inspire cross-functional teams and stakeholders in fast-paced, creative industries.
  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; MBA or advanced certification (e.g., in cybersecurity or ERP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic IT Leadership : Develop and execute a comprehensive IT roadmap that aligns with business objectives, including global expansion, product innovation, and e-commerce integration. Champion the use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to unify disparate ERP systems, improve real-time reporting, and drive data-driven decision-making across design, manufacturing, and distribution.
  • ERP and Systems Optimization : Lead the ongoing enhancement of our Microsoft Dynamics 365/Business Central implementation, focusing on inventory planning, subcontracted production visibility, and seamless integration with supply chain tools. Collaborate with partners like Sunrise Technologies to ensure the platform scales with our private-label and licensed SKU volumes.
  • Digital Innovation and Emerging Technologies : Spearhead initiatives in IoT and connected merchandise.
  • Operations and Infrastructure Management : Oversee IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data governance, serving as the designated Data Protection Officer (DPO) to ensure compliance with global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR). Manage a distributed team supporting multi-site manufacturing, international offices, and retail partnerships.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with executive leadership on acquisitions, sustainability efforts, and retail channel strategies, leveraging technology to optimize transportation, supplier management, and eco-friendly practices. Drive cost efficiencies, such as reducing operational silos through cloud-based ERP relaunch, to support revenue growth.
  • Team and Vendor Management : Build and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation and inclusion. Manage relationships with key vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco) to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions.
