Summary of Job Duties: Trojan Works Student Workers serve in various roles across campus as Institutional Work-Study (IWS) student workers. Specific duties are designated by the department hiring manager to include but are not limited to customer service, answering phones, and clerical work. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
The primary position is at the Windgate Center for Art + Design. However, there may be some hours at the Fine Arts Building. The Trojan Works Art Gallery Assistant is expected to help in various roles such as welcoming guests, serving as a gallery attendant, helping with installations including producing and mounting object labels, gallery lighting, paint touch up, hanging artwork (training will be provided) and duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required Education and/or Experience: - Degree-seeking UA Little Rock students enrolled in classes at the time of application;
- Eligible to legally work 20 hours per week in the United States;
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma ;
- Must be ineligible for Federal Work-Study (FWS)
Preferred Education and/or Experience - Students majoring in the School of Art and Design programs
Job Duties and Responsibilities - Gallery sitting;
- Data entry into the permanent collection database;
- Lighting in the galleries;
- Mounting and installing labels;
- Hanging artwork;
- Packing artwork.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Move and lift up to 50lbs;
- Database entry;
- Use and read tape measures, levels, battery-powered drills;
- Possess good communication skills;
- Dependable.
